SUCCESS OF THE TWO ETAP-I COURSES 25-3 AND 25-4 HELD IN WUNSTORF, GERMANY

Pilots from Belgium, Germany, Spain, Portugal, Sweden, and BATS (Bilateral Air Transport Squadron France-Germany) have successfully completed ETAP-I 25-3 and ETAP-I 25-4 courses, held in Wunstorf from November 18th to 28th. These two intensive courses brought together expert pilots from various nations, training them as Tactical Instructors for future ETAP projects dedicated to aircrew training. Following this ETAP-I training, they become key players in the development of crew training courses, due to their essential role in the standardization of Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs), flight safety oversight, and the evaluation of the achievement of training objectives.

Strengthening International Collaboration

Both courses represented a renewed drive within the European Tactical Airlift Programme, reinforcing Germany’s strong commitment as the host nation, while also validating the multinational trust in this joint training effort. It is worth highlighting the participation of an instructor pilot from Sweden, which, although not yet a member of the ETAP program, serves as a valuable ally in this multinational European effort.

Additionally, it is noteworthy that, following Germany’s generous contribution by leading two courses, Spain will further increase its European commitment during the 2026 work program. Spain will add to its current effort of hosting three ETAP-C projects for aircrews by offering two additional ETAP-I projects for tactical instructors. These additional courses will be conducted on the Wing 31 simulator under the direction of the ETAC.
